What is an Intensive Outpatient program?

Don’t know the difference between inpatient and outpatient rehab?

Allow us to explain more about outpatient drug and alcohol therapy. Outpatient rehabilitation involves patients voluntarily traveling to a clinic or hospital for treatment sessions after which they had back home. There is no overnight staying at such facilities and no blocked contact from family or friends.  These therapies can usually last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and sessions can be scheduled according to the patient’s flexibility. It’s the perfect choice for people who were inspired to fight their own addiction. Most individuals need to be slightly stronger willed and disciplined for this therapy considering they won’t be monitored constantly like inpatient therapy.

How Do Our Intensive Outpatient Programs in Texas & Arizona Work?

Intensive outpatient is after a residential stay however, residential being strict oversight 24 hours a day for a client to get them through the first 30 days of recovery from addiction. Clients must first show they can leave the facility without being a danger to themselves or others if not closely monitored.  The strict oversight with the regular allowances to have meetings do other things outside allow patients to get the experience of being with other sober people outside of the clinic. Typically, when a patient is enrolled in an IOP program, an intensive outpatient program director will transfer your case (Which may differ depending on your insurance and level of care) from another state into your IOP program.  We offer a very intensive therapeutic style treatment depending on the level of severity to assist a client get sober and keep you them, most importantly.

Our goal is to get to the root of the problem by whatever means necessary.  Looking back at the traumas from one’s past can open doors of opportunity and clarity that have never been explored before.  By labeling deeper resentments many are able to understand where the root of their substance abuse may have started. Many addicts in their childhood to early teens dealt with a lot of traumas that may have emotionally scarred them. Most addicts typically have sexual/mental/physical abuse in their past, the separation of family, and or the letdowns in high school that follow them as emotional baggage that could directly contribute to the consistent substance abuse.

The possibilities are endless.  We focus on the repressed side of these emotional issues, and we want to get an open communication.  To find out which of those past traumas actually is contributing to that.

Intensive outpatient programs typically vary Monday through Friday during the week.  These sessions can be between 3-6 hours a day depending on this necessity.
