What Intensive Outpatient Looks Like
IOP usually runs three to five sessions a week, with evening scheduling so treatment fits around work, school, or family. A co-occurring anxiety, depression, or trauma diagnosis is treated in the same program rather than referred out.

Reyes Topete, MD, our medical director, oversees every level of care at SOBA. One family-owned clinical team has run the whole continuum since 2007, detox through aftercare, with no handoffs between separate providers.

Sessions are at our Mesa facility, about 25 to 30 minutes from campus via US-60, scheduled around class and work blocks. Between them you can keep going to a local meeting like the Tempe Group AA. If a Mill Ave DUI is part of this, Tempe Community Supervision ((480) 350-5400) accepts documentation of IOP participation toward court requirements.
